MISSION
For over 50 years scientists and public health experts predicted the rise and spread of lethal microbes and parasites which would trigger epidemics and pandemics. The Pandemic Playbook (TPP) is committed to educating the public and global leadership concerning this growing threat which is capable of exterminating our species. Therefore understanding and analyzing epidemics and pandemics and their source emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases (EIDs), pathogens of pandemic potential, is the focus of TPP. Using information and citations from the fields of medicine, science and other sources TPP gives unique perspectives on EIDs and epidemics. This information should be useful to the public, policy experts and students of these fields. While TPP presently only cover a few areas in this immense field, the concepts and ideas discussed here should be transferable to understand other EIDs and infectious disease outbreaks.
